The Lone Ranger was a long-running radio and early television show. George W. Trendle wias the creator of the series along with input from staff members. The Lone Ranger show was developed by Fran Striker. The main character was a masked Texas Ranger in the old west originally played by Paul Halliwell. The Lone Ranger would ride his white horse Silver, and often times you could hear him yell over the sound of hoofs beating against the ground, "Hi-Yo Silver, Away..." The Lone Ranger had an indian partner known as Tonto. The Lone Ranger and Tonto would gallop about the country righting injustice along the way. The show would begin with the exciting sound of an orchestra playing the famous William Tell Overture and an announcer saying, "A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust, and a hearty "Hi-you, Silver, away...THE LONE RANGER"
